Rainha das Lágrimas - Um K-drama sobre o Amor Verdadeiro

Our journey as “Dorameiros” began at the end of last year, and we were literally captured by South Korean energy. We have already spent time on several doramas and finished some, but now in July we started watching a current phenomenon called “Queen of Tears”.

This dorama, with its 16 intense and complex episodes, led us to deep reflections. The story revolves around a couple, Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) and Hae-in (Kim Ji-won). Hyun-woo is a lawyer trained in Seoul, and Hae-in is the heiress of the conglomerate and CEO of the Queen shopping mall. They meet when he is rising as a lawyer in the group, while she starts working as an intern in the same department.

Unaware that she is the heiress of the group, they fall irresistibly in love and marry, overcoming class differences. However, shortly after the wedding, they find themselves “separated” and living in a state of war and hatred. The drama revolves around this conflict, offering a rich and exciting narrative.

In the early episodes, the discovery of a serious illness in Hae-in puts her life at risk, causing Hyun-woo to abandon the decision of divorce and take intense care of her. The two begin to reconnect, to truly know each other, and realize that they have been literally and deeply connected since childhood.

The intense dialogues during each episode, averaging 1 hour and 20 minutes, are filled with emotion and meaning. The quest for a cure reaches its climax in Frankfurt, Germany, which was even more special for us. In January of this year, we were in Frankfurt for the Ambiente Fair - the world's largest consumer goods fair - and created many good memories there, especially on the Iron Bridge (Eiserner Steg), one of the special places in the series episodes, known for its love locks.

With each episode, we became even more involved with the characters and hoped for a happy ending. It is difficult to write without giving spoilers, but we invite everyone to enjoy this beautiful dorama, available on Netflix. The reflections on true love, the importance of connecting and being together as a couple, and the beauty of a love cared for and preserved until the end of life are deeply touching.

Another highlight is the villain, Jung Woo-jin (Park Seo-joon), who plays a crucial role in the series. Woo-jin is a former colleague of Hae-in, with whom he even had a relationship, and also an ambitious investor who will do anything to gain power and revenge against the conglomerate.

His threatening and manipulative presence adds an extra layer of tension to the dorama. He not only becomes an obstacle for Hyun-woo and Hae-in but also reveals dark secrets from the past that test the strength of the couple's relationship.

If you are looking for a dorama to cry in every episode (I cried), "Queen of Tears" has everything to be the best dorama of 2024. Do not miss the chance to be moved and fall in love with this incredible story!
